About the Hall of Fame

The Pennsylvania Sporting Clays Association has developed a Hall of Fame to recognize highly skilled shooters and outstanding individuals that have helped contribute to the advancement of sporting clays on both a state and national level. Members inducted into the Hall of Fame will be recognized at the Pennsylvania State Shoot of that year.

Nominations for the award can be submitted by a current NSCA member for review by an appointed committee. All nominations must be received by April 1st of the fiscal year to be considered that year. See the required qualifications, prerequisites, process, and application below.

2023 Inaugural Hall of Fame Inductee

Joseph Zeitler

Joseph Zeitler has been granted the honor of being the Pennsylvania Sporting Clays Association's Inaugural Hall of Fame Inductee.

Joe started his sporting clays career in 1994 when he joined the NSCA. Since then, he has made himself known throughout northeastern America by competing and winning a large number of events. His most significant wins are as follows:

10-time Pennsylvania State Champion
6-time HOA at the Hardy Classic
3-time HOA at the Seafood Blast
HOA at the Homestead Cup
4-time HOA at the Bad Clay
HOA at the Zone 2 Shoot
4-time HOA at the Western Zone
12-time HOA at the Dove Classic
HOA at the Mid-America
HOA at the NSCA Nationals in 28 Gauge and 20 Gauge Fitasc
HOA at the Northeast Regionals in 28 Gauge Fitasc, 20 Gauge (twice), and 20 Gauge Fitasc (three times)
HOA at the US Open in 28 Gauge

On top of this impressive record, he has also been on the
All American Open Team 5 years
All-Region Northeast Open Team 5 years
All-State Open Team 8 years
All-State Master Class Team 1 year
12 Gauge Team 1 year
20 Guage Team 6 years
28 Gauge Team 7 years
.410 Team 6 years

While many other shooters who joined in the '90s have either quit or slowed down, Joe has not. He still routinely shoots around 6000 targets a year in various disciplines from sub-gauge to Fitasc and everything in between, and he still travels all across the country to shoot at places like the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas.

Outside of his exemplary shooting history, he has also worked to advance the growth of the sport throughout the state. On a more local level, in 2022, Joe took on the task of being a coach for the Lawrence County Young Guns, an SCTP team located at the Lawrence County Sportsmen's Association (LCSA). Since then, he has taken numerous young shooters under his wing and taught them various new techniques and methods to help them succeed.

Despite being vice president of the PSCA when he was presented with this award, he was completely unaware that he was being nominated. The award was granted to him at the 2023 State Shoot with no warning given to him. He was highly grateful and we hope to see his success continue for many years to come.

Congratulations Joe!
